Temecula Wedding At Cross Creek Golf Course
When Steve and Nikki reached out to me about needing a wedding photographer in Temecula, one of my first questions was what winery were they getting married at? They responded that they were not getting married at one of the Temecula wineries, but rather planned on saying “I Do” at Cross Creek Golf Course. Naturally, I was off to a fantastic start in our conversation… Thankfully, playing the roll of an idiot is something I’ve gotten pretty good at over my 30+ years as a human so I was able to pivot rather quickly and transition the conversation back to their wedding photography needs. Oh and in case you are wondering why I would call myself an idiot it’s because I often find myself doing idiot-like things such as earlier this week when I took my car to the car wash and had the window down. Oh and in case you were wondering I drive a Hyundai because Hyundai’ drive the women absolutely wild. But let’s now step away from the topic of dumb things I do and the motor vehicles that act as a aphrodisiac for the ladies and get back to Steve, Nikki and their wedding at Cross Creek Country Club! Besides, it’s a better story that does not end with inside cab of my Hyundai being soaking wet.
Fast forward from our initial conversations about photography and the many other details related to Steve and Nikki’s wedding at Cross Creek Country Club to May 28th, the actual wedding day! When we arrived at Cross Creek Country Club, Steve was already dressed in his suit and getting pumped up for the big day by listening to Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch’s “Good Vibrations”. He was doing a lot of shadow boxing, grunting loudly while looking at himself in the mirror and generally getting “into the zone” as he called it. I explained that “getting in the zone” was fantastic but we had to do his first look soon so he better focus on that. After the first look we rolled right into the wedding ceremony followed then by family photos, wedding party photos and then wedding portraits of just the bride and groom. Honestly, this was by far my favorite part of the day because Nikki was totally cool with sitting down with her wedding dress on in a field of gorgeous yellow flowers. I mention this because most brides have to take a xanax and suck it down with a glass of champagne at just the thought of sitting in a field with their wedding dress on. Seriously, brides can get crazy about their dresses and it is usually not until they stop giving a f*** is when they start having an awesome time. So I cannot preach it enough that the DGAF approach on the wedding day should be the goal of every bride. What I mean is don’t be afraid to sit in a field with your dress on, or get champagne on your dress or basically anything that might stop you from having fun because of your dress. Unless of course you plan on keeping the tags on the wedding dress and returning back to David’s Bridal the next day. Ain’t nothing wrong with being a Costco bride on a budget! I am totally jumping off topic again so let me just recap everything by saying Steve and Nikki’s Temecula wedding at Cross Creek Country Club was rad and below are a handful of photos from their wedding day. So enjoy!
Cross Creek Golf Course Wedding In Temecula
Okay so this was my very first time photographing a wedding at Cross Creek Country Club so I have to admit that my assessment of the wedding venue is a bit limited. However, here are some of my initial thoughts about the Temecula wedding venue! First of all, I really liked the ceremony site where the wedding took place. The wedding ceremony was shaded by a large beautiful tree and the entire area had a lot of open space which was nice because it allowed me and my second photographer the ability to move around freely. Another thing I liked is that in that in the nearby area (first hole) there is another totally epic tree that made for an amazing backdrop during the wedding party photos and some bride/groom portraits. It really is a huge selling point for the Cross Creek wedding venue. Below the driving range near the bridge there were also some cool spots for more wedding photos that I personally utilized for the First Look, bridesmaids photos and groomsmen photos. On Steve and Nikki’s wedding day there were no clouds in the sky and the sun was very harsh so I really had to scout around to find areas with decent shade coverage, and thankfully Cross Creek had spots for us. In terms of the drawbacks of the wedding venue I would say the bridesmaids suite is really small, cluttered and not photogenic. That is code for ugly. Therefore, I would totally encourage any brides planning on getting married at Cross Creek to get ready at the hotel or local AirBnb if they want better getting ready shots. Other than that, I was pretty happy with the Cross Creek Country Club as a wedding venue and would totally recommend the location for brides and grooms looking to book a Temecula wedding venue not located in the wineries!
THANK YOU again to Steve and Nikki for allowing me to photograph your Temecula wedding at Cross Creek! It was an absolute pleasure getting to work with you throughout the entire wedding planning process! I hope you guys had an amazing time in Hawaii drinking fruity cocktails, watching colorful sunsets and getting massages from large, sexy, tan, Hawaiian gentlemen. I know how much Steve enjoys a massage from a man with strong hands! Cheers guys!
