Temecula Family Photo Session
When Roja contacted me about taking some family photos in Temecula one of my first concerns was if I would even have the availability. It’s not like I am some super popular guy like Justin Timberlake, but more because the family photo session would be scheduled on short notice in a weekend in April, which is pretty much the unofficial start of wedding season. Literally, this week I have 5 photo shoots in a span of 7 days that includes engagements, weddings and elopements. Thankfully, we were able to find a time that worked for both of us and that time was last week!
We started the Temecula family photo session at a local park so we could get Sachin running around and having fun. My goal as a photographer is to make family sessions be as natural and genuine as possible so that means trying to keep things as candid as possible. I love photos that have life. Images that make you feel something. I think that type of photography has a stronger connection than the traditional photo of a family dressed in some nice clothes while sitting in a field and looking at the camera fake smiling. I want that interaction and the local park was a really great place to make Sachin feel more comfortable and in his element. After snapping some fun stuff at the park we rolled back to Roja’s house for a more traditional portrait of the family with their two dogs. It was honestly a real fun and easy photo session so I can’t say thank you enough to Roja, Jijo and Sachin for allowing me to photograph them. You guys rock!
On a personal note, I’ve always marketed myself as a Temecula wedding photographer but have really been enjoying family photo sessions lately. I assume that is because I have a 9 month-old son and 2 year-old daughter, which has resulted in me spending a lot of time with Elmo, Mickey Mouse and all of the other stuff kids introduce to your adult world. I am very much looking forward to doing more family photo shoots this year.
For more non-wedding photos feel free to check out some recent maternity photos I captured of my wife in Palm Springs/Oregon, or this in-home Temecula family photo session I did about 2 years ago! Don’t judge me too hard on the old work because like I mentioned above, I pretty much work mostly on weddings!
