Joshua Tree Elopement
As a photographer in Southern California, I’ve been lucky enough to photograph some pretty rad locations up and down the west coast from Yosemite to Catalina Island. Southern California has so many awesome spots that many times I forget how spoiled I am that I get to live in a area where the weather is pretty much rad all the time and the landscape is quite diverse (mountains, urban, wineries, beach, desert and so on). It’s honestly a treasure chest full of awesome for anyone, especially a wedding photographer. However, there was one location lately I had been dying to photograph but the opportunity had not presented itself. See I love photographing the desert and frequently find myself in Palm Springs sitting poolside with a cocktail in hand or in both hands. Yet I simply never end up making the trek to nearby Joshua Tree (the spot I had found myself eager to photograph of late). However that all changed when Jason & Cari contacted me from San Francisco and told me that they were looking to elope at Joshua Tree.
The day of the elopement Joshua Tree was about 65 degrees. So it wasn’t bad at all, but there was one tiny little problem. And that was Mr. Wind and he was blowing pretty hard for us. Jason & Cari were seriously kick ass though. Even with some frigid air and messy air the day couldn’t have been more amazing. No details. No Pinterest inspired signs. Just two people in love with the gorgeous desert backdrop that had us all enamored. Everything about Joshua Tree is magical and maybe that is what brought Jason & Cari there. Below are some photographs of Jason & Cari’s Joshua Tree elopement.
Oh and on a special side note, I have photographed more weddings than I can remember, officiated one wedding for a couple close friends and after Jason & Cari’s wedding have now been an official witness. How rad is that?
