Temecula Wine Country Wedding
I’m not a scientist but I heard somewhere that the scientific community overwhelmingly agrees that a) the planet is getting warmer and b) that humans are the ones contributing to that climate change. What I do know is that every wedding I photographed in September and October this year the temperature was above 90 degrees which was a first for me. Now I live in Southern California so I am aware that sunshine is always on the menu but when the temperatures are that high in September, October and in November for Astrid and Sean’s wedding at Mount Palomar Winery in Temecula, California…well that sort tells me that I need to amend my wedding services contract so that my new dress attire is a sleeveless tuxedo shirt and shorts because damn it was a hot year! But this blog post is not about sweaty dress shirts or how we are kicking Mother Earth in the tits, but rather Sean and Astrid’s Mount Palomar wedding!
When I photographed Sean and Astrid’s engagement photos in downtown Orange we had a pretty solid connection from the very start. Part of this might have been because they started the engagement session at a little bar. Since we had the unfortunate luck of the engagement session falling on what happened to be the only rainy day in California since 1982, we cruised around town when it was dry and then moved into a new tavern when the rain began to fall again. This provided both shelter and an opportunity for more refreshments. One could say it was my type of engagement shoot. But the coolest part about the engagement shoot was that even though the day was unpredictable, Sean and Astrid were totally relaxed the entire time. Therefore, I knew when their wedding in Temecula came around it would be a mellow day. And that is exactly what happened. Sean and Astrid’s wedding at Mount Palomar had everything: emotion, booze, good friends, live music and a grandma from Norway that made sexual advances on me. Oh and yes if you are wondering I totally would have made sweet to love to her if I were not already a married man. Below are some of the photographs from the Temecula wine country wedding at Mount Palomar! Cheers!
About Mount Palomar Winery
There are a lot of wineries in Temecula that also serve as wedding venues but Mount Palomar is easily one of my favorites in wine country. In fact I captured some wedding photos at Mount Palomar last October (my first time shooting the venue) and my initial impressions were that the ceremony site was spacious, the vineyard had some cool angles for portraits and overall the wedding venue had a lot of little spots that were great for photos. The only drawback is that wedding venue is a little blasted by sunlight earlier in the day and shade can be tough to find if the wedding party is large.
Wedding coverage was 8 hours with 2 photographers at Mount Palomar Winery in Temecula, California. Thank you so much to Katie for second shooting with me! I greatly appreciated your assistance documenting Astrid and Sean’s wine country wedding.
